  • Lisa

    Hometown: Ranfurly, Central Otago

Favourite food & beverage: Tough call between nachos and a lamb roast… washed down with a Lemon & Lime Bitters

Country I’d love to travel to: Anywhere with a good adventure!

Pets: Heidi (Spaniel), Gretchen & Gertrude (chooks), Mac & George (hacks)

Favourite retraining TB in the past 12 months: Taz, Bacon, Asgard, and Jack (the twat!)

Favourite TB breeding: Any with a great attitude; jumping talent is a bonus

If I could retrain any racehorse, it would be: Nature Strip

Something you won’t know about me: I rode at the Chatham Island Races and won the Chatham Island Cup (3200m race for island-born horses). And the Duke of Gloucester Cup (Amateur Jockey Race) a few years ago.

Lisa was proudly named the winner of the Care & Welfare Excellence Award at the Entain Awards 2025.

Worst injury, was it horse-related, and how did it happen: Broken T6 & T7—fell off at a point-to-point

Things I enjoy outside of work/horses (guilty pleasures): Cooking, and growing veggies and flowers in the garden

Favourite place to ride: Mustering cattle on the hill blocks in Ranfurly

If I wasn’t working with horses, I’d probably be: Working on a sheep and beef farm

Lisa’s dedication, hands-on work ethic, and genuine love for Thoroughbreds shine through in everything she does, making her an integral part of the EventStars team. Rain, hail, shine, or mud - she’s always there with a smile!

  • Tiff

    Hometown: Hamilton

Favourite food & drink: Cheese platter & bubbles

    Dream destination: Ireland

Pets: Dog, cat, five polo ponies, and some lambs

Favourite retraining TB: Snickers & Ham

Favourite TB breeding: Anything by Deep Field

Things I enjoy outside work: Polo, golf, racing

If I wasn’t working with horses: Probably a vet nurse or anything to do with animals

Tiff plays a key role behind the scenes, from early morning feed runs and paddock work to odd jobs like grooming, rug changes, arena care and general maintenance. Always hands-on and cheerful, she keeps the team and property running smoothly. And thankfully is handy with a bottle of dye to sort out those pesky faded forelocks we all hate to see!
